Rally to Read

Fun Ride (ages 6 & under) - Bring your child’s scooter, tricycle or bike and cheer them on as they ride around the track at Oakes Field. Parents accompanying children are not required to register for Rally to Read.)
Family Ride or Walk/Run (ages 7 & up) - Enjoy a ride, walk or run through scenic downtown South Charleston on this flat two-mile course traveling on city streets. The course beings and ends at Oakes Field with a stop for refreshments at The Appalachian Reading Center, Inc. Child under 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
The Appalachian Reading Center Challenge (for experienced cyclists) - Test your endurance and take the challenge! This ten mile course winds through the hills of South Charleston, starting and ending at Oakes Field, with a rest stop halfway through the course. Maps will be distributed on the day of the rally.
Join in on the fun, rain or shine! Enjoy live music by The Barkoloungers, post ride snacks, and fun at Oakes Field throughout the morning. The Rally to Read is a benefit event for The Appalachian Reading Center, Inc. Registration includes t-shirt and refreshments.
