Implicit Bias Training

The South Charleston Chamber is hosting a special training event, "Implicit Bias: Unpacking Hidden Prejudices, which will be conducted by the YWCA Racial Justice Committee.
This training will be held virtually on Thursday, September 17th from 11am - 1pm. The training is being offered free of charge, registration is required and there are limited spots for event. To receive the registration link, please email executivedirector@southcharlestonchamber.org.
The purpose of this training is to help community leaders understand race-related concepts in hopes of breaking down the barriers racial bias creates. Further objectives of this training include providing a historical background of race relations and discrimination, recognizing common diversity and inclusion related misconceptions, and defining Implicit Bias and discussing how bias manifests in our daily lives. This presentation provides a safe space to encourage honest dialogue surrounding racial bias in the world around us.
